20 Million Americans have Asthma.

Approximately 12 Million Americans experience an Asthma Attack each year.

Nearly 2 Million emergency room visits and 500,000 hospitalizations are attributed to Asthma each year.

Nationwide, more than 4,000 deaths are due to Asthma each year.
  Ways to Give

The American Lung Association is committed to the goal that one day:

Asthma will no longer be a burden to patients and their families, nor will it cause illness or death.

If you have asthma and are 12 years of age or older, take the Asthma Control Test (ACT) – five simple questions to help you assess if your asthma is as controlled as it should be – then share the results with your doctor.  If you don’t have asthma, talk to family, friends or business associates that do and tell them about the ACT.

Take the test!

Join the fight against the asthma epidemic….buy and wear the ‘ BREATHEASIER’ wristband.  The American Lung Association and GlaxoSmithKline are working together to promote asthma awareness.  Together, we’ve launched the ‘ BREATHEASIER’ campaign. GlaxoSmithKline has provided the Lung Association with wristbands and will match the first $250,000 raised through the campaign. All proceeds will benefit the American Lung Association’s asthma programs and the fight against lung disease.

Wear a ‘ BREATHEASIER’ wristband and share one with your friends and family – help the American Lung Association fight asthma.
