About the Ohio Thoracic Society

The Ohio Thoracic Society (OTS) is a professional organization dedicated to all aspects of lung disease, research, professional education, and clinical practice are special concerns of its members. The OTS, which also serves as the medical section of the The American Lung Association® of Ohio, is multidisciplinary in its membership of physicians, scientists, and other highly qualified health professionals.

The Ohio Thoracic Society is a state chapter of the American Thoracic Society, an organization with an international reputation for leadership in lung disease and the publisher of two professional journals.

The Ohio Thoracic Society (OTS) is the Medical Section of the American Lung Association of Ohio (ALAO).   OTS has representation to the American Thoracic Society (ATS).

Annual Case Conference & Symposium   
Each fall the society holds a major education event at a state park or comparable facility. National experts in the field are invited to serve as consultants to the conference. OTS members receive a reduced registration fee.  The society co-sponsors other one-day conferences throughout the state on current topics.

 The Ohio Thoracic Society Offers:

An opportunity to interact with peers in pulmonary medicine

Participation in medical education events, including the annual Case Conference

Involvement with special interest committees

The ability to contribute to the efforts of the American Lung Association of Ohio toward prevention and control of lung disease
