The Ohio Asthma Coalition is a collaborative group of medical and public health professionals, business leaders, government agencies, community activists, and others dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with asthma through information sharing, networking and advocacy.

  Ways to Give

Because at least one million people in Ohio have been told that
they have asthma, the coalition was formed through a collaborative
effort of the Ohio Department of Health Asthma Program and the
American Lung Association of Ohio.  The coalition currently has
110 members representing 50 organizations and all the areas
of the state.

The inaugural meeting of the coalition was held on June 3, 2003.
Since that time the coalition has produced the
Ohio Statewide Asthma Plan
and implementation of the plan is proceeding.

Most of the activity of the coalition occurs in committees.   Each committee
has developed a strategic plan and is starting the work of implementation.
